The RISING STAR BASKETBALL SCHOOL is directed by KEVIN O'BRIEN,
longtime college coach. He has coached at Harvard, Boston University,
Brandeis and Stonehill. He is assisted by top high school and college
coaches with a mission to teach the game in a throrough and enthusiastic
manner. College players and current professionals typically serve
as coaches.

The staff is recruited based on their ability to teach the game of basketball in an enthusiastic and professional manner. The theme of RISING STAR is to create an atmosphere in which learning and hard work go hand-in-hand. We encourage a positive atmosphere throughout the session.

Guest Speakers

Coaches who have spoken in the past include former NBA Coach Jim O'Brien of the Indiana Pacers, the Philidelphia 76'ers, former Boston Celtics head coach John Carroll, NorthEastern Head Coach Bill Coen, Houston Rockets assistant Andy Greer assistant coach with Memphis Grizzlies,Larry Greer advanced scout with Portland Trailblazers, Tom Moore Head Coach of Quinnipiac University, and Jim O'Brien from Ohio State. Professional players like David Wesley of the Houston Rockets, Steve Harrington Boston Globe Coach of the Year who led Watertown to State Championship and Howard Eisley of the Utah Jazz have also spoken at the camp.
Athletic Trainers
Professional athletic trainers oversee our daily operation and are ready to handle routine injuries. Quality hospital facilities are a short distance from all of our camp locations.
